1986

This photograph was made by aiming the camera at Polaris, the pole star. The earth’s axis of rotation points toward one spot in space, and in a time exposure photograph all the stars seem to revolve around that one point. Notice that Polaris is not exactly centered on the celestial pole but makes a tiny arc around it.
